Winter & Spring 2026 Course Registration

November 07, 2025 | Registration Notification

Dear WKU Students,

Please be advised that priority course registration for the Winter and Spring of 2026 will begin on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, at 9:00 AM (Beijing time). The courses will be published sometime over the weekend. You may then begin planning your Winter and Spring course schedule via the NEW Student Self-Service

Students will be assigned to one of the ten registration priority groups:

  • Groups 2 through 8 are for undergraduate non-freshmen, based on the number of credit hours earned prior to the start of the Fall 2025 semester. The schedule below defines the credit hour range and registration dates for each priority group.

  • Groups 9 and 10 are for freshmen, who are randomly assigned to either group. You can view your designated group in the upper right corner of the new Student Self-Service. In the next registration cycle, students in groups 9 and 10 will have their order reversed. The randomization process took place with representatives from the Student Government, the Student Director and Alpha present.

The registration system will restrict students from registering prior to their assigned day and time.

The registration system will close on November 25th at 3:00 AM (Beijing time) and will reopen on December 2nd at 9:00 AM (Beijing time). After reopening on December 2nd, registration will remain open until the add/drop deadline of the respective semester. During the closed period, colleges reserve the right to release additional seats, such as by removing restrictions, before registration reopens to all students.

The ONCE KU Course Registration Application will open group by group, starting on December 3rd at 9:00 AM (Beijing time). For detailed timeslots, please refer to the registration calendar below.

Please refer to the Academic Calendar for add/drop dates and other important deadlines - https://www.wku.edu.cn/en/academics/academic-calendar

You can check your earned credits in the OLD Student Self-Service by logging into your account and selecting Academics Unofficial Transcript

Preparing for Registration:

  • Complete FERPA Preference Submission - You will not be able to access the ONCE service for the KU Course Registration Application until you submit your FERPA preference via ONCE. (Applies to incoming students in 2025 Fall).

  • Meet with Academic Advisor - All students are required to meet with their academic advisor to discuss their schedules for the upcoming term. If you have not met with your advisor yet, please do so as soon as possible.

  • Schedule subject to Change - Course information is subject to change after publishing. We encourage you to check your planned courses again before registration.

  • Waitlist Function Pilot for HIST 1062 - During this registration cycle, we will be using HIST 1062 as a pilot course to test the system’s waitlist function. If the class is full and you still wish to add it, please waitlist for the course section through the new Student Self-Service instead of submitting an ONCE KU Course Registration Application (Note that HIST 1062 will not be available in the ONCE course list, so you will not be able to apply for it through ONCE). If you would like to add yourself to the waitlist, please click here for detailed procedural guidance. The guidance on the linked webpage will be uploaded by November 15, 2025.

Important Notes:

  • Click here for instructions on navigating course registration in the new Student Self-Service.

  • Undergraduate students may repeat a course once (resulting in a total of two enrollments) if they received a grade of F, D, C, or C+ in the original attempt. A second repeat of the same course is only permitted if both previous grades were F, D, C, or C+, and the ONCE KU Course Registration Application form has been approved. Courses with grades of B- or higher may not be repeated unless specified in official curriculum requirements.

  • Some course sections are restricted to students who started in a particular year; for this purpose, all undergraduate students are given a start year code within the registration system based on their start year/admitted year. You can view your designation in the upper right corner of the new Student Self-Service. If you have taken a prolonged Leave of Absence and believe that the designation will disrupt your actual four-year plan, please contact the Office of the Registrar prior to the opening of registration for consideration of whether a one-time and irreversible adjustment to a later start year is appropriate. Click here for details.

  • Some course sections are restricted to specific student populations (e.g., specific majors). Special approval from the college will be required if you wish to register for a course for which you do not meet the restriction requirements. Please submit a ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.

  • If a class you are attempting to register for requires a petition approval, you must request this from the college that offers the course. Please submit a ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.

  • Closed sections will require an approved ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.

  • Click here for instructions on applying for courses via ONCE. Please note, only select TBA for instructor if you have confirmed the instructor is not assigned in the new Student Self-Service. Otherwise, the form may not be acted upon. Colleges reserve the right to establish their own application review timeline.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation and please contact our office if you have any questions. Best wishes and success as we near the end of the Fall 2025 semester!
