Title IX

Title IX is a federal civil rights law enacted as part of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 that prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools, educational programs and other places or activities that receive federal assistance. Title IX applies to the educational programs and activities of the University, to conduct that takes place on the campus or on property owned or controlled by the University, at University-sponsored events, or in buildings owned or controlled by the University’s recognized student organizations. No person on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.

We committed to providing an education and employment environment free from sex discrimination and sex-based harassment and will continue to strive to create a community and a culture that is respectful and inclusive.

What Is Consent?

Consent is defined as permission to act. It may be given by words or actions, so long as those words or actions create clear, mutually understood permission to engage in (and the conditions of) sexual activity
