Doctoral Innovation Station (Wenzhou Loverdoor Group Co., Ltd.)

Founded in 1994, Wenzhou Loverdoor Group Co., Ltd. is a global‑oriented manufacturer and supplier specializing in eyewear packaging and the eyewear industrial chain. It has nine wholly‑owned subsidiaries located in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Hebei provinces, with its headquarters in Wenzhou, Zhejiang.

Wenzhou Loverdoor Group Co., Ltd. invites Dr. Maurizio Vrenna, Assistant Professor of Industrial Design, and Jiang Yuanbo, Lecturer in Graphic Design from Wenzhou‑Kean University, to lead the establishment of the Loverdoor Doctoral Innovation Station. Based on the project of spectacle cases made from recycled fishing‑net felts, both parties will carry out a series of cooperation covering product design, joint curriculum development and talent cultivation.

From an environmental perspective, effective recycling of discarded fishing nets can greatly reduce pollution to oceans, lakes and other water bodies caused by random disposal or improper handling of fishing nets, thus protecting living environments for aquatic organisms. In terms of resource utilization, the project realizes the circular reuse of fishing‑net resources. It converts waste materials into valuable felt spectacle‑case products, improves resource‑use efficiency, lowers demand for virgin raw materials, and helps conserve resources and cut production costs. The implementation of this project will inject new momentum into local economic growth, raise public environmental‑protection awareness, enhance public recognition and support for resource recycling, and foster a social atmosphere for green development.
