Dr. LI Xiaonian received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Zhejiang University of Technology and his PhD from the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He currently serves as the Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chancellor of Wenzhou–Kean University. Within the authority delegated by the University’s Board of Directors, he is responsible for the University’s overall administration.

Prior to joining Wenzhou–Kean University, Dr. Li served as the President of Zhejiang University of Technology. He is currently a Foreign Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. His research has long focused on industrial catalyst technologies and green processes. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia in Canada and conducted postdoctoral research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the United States. Dr. Li has led and contributed to a number of major national and provincial research projects. His honors include two National Technology Invention Awards (Second Prize; ranked first and third, respectively), a State Scientific and Technological Progress Award (First Prize; ranked fifth), four First-Class Provincial or Ministerial Science and Technology Awards, and the China Youth Science and Technology Award. He has also been selected for the Ministry of Education’s Changjiang Scholars Program, the Super Expert in Zhejiang, and the New Century Hundreds and Thousands and Ten-Thousand Talent Project.
