Institute for China‑US Cultural and Economic Studies, Wenzhou‑Kean University (Zhejiang Provincial Center for Regional and Country Studies)

The Institute for China‑US Cultural and Economic Studies will leverage the university’s teaching and research platforms, integrate and link Chinese and foreign academic and research resources, advance exchanges in education, culture, scientific research and other fields between China and the United States, and conduct research on the positive role of overseas Chinese in Sino‑US cultural exchanges. On this basis, the institute will gradually expand its scope of work, conduct in‑depth dialogues and research on the development of Sino‑US cultural‑exchange mechanisms, and build multi‑level cultural‑exchange channels. Guided by the mission of building a community with a shared future for mankind, the institute seeks to establish China‑US networks for overseas Chinese and public diplomacy, set up a discussion platform for China‑US‑related issues, and develop a new‑type university‑based think tank through research and dialogues. In addition, combining studies on the relationship between Wenzhou’s economic optimization and transformation and cross‑regional investment by Wenzhou business communities, as well as dynamic research on Wenzhou‑origin residents in the United States and local social development, it will explore the internal‑and‑external interaction between American and Chinese societies amid sensitive periods of China‑US relations.
