WKU Creative City and Sustainable Development Research Center

Centered on researchers from Wenzhou‑Kean University, WKU Creative City and Sustainable Development Research Center actively partners with local and out‑of‑town professionals in urban planning, urban culture, economics and other relevant fields. It carries out research on creative cities and modern landscape‑oriented cities, striving to build a theoretical system for landscape‑integrated creative cities and conduct comparative case studies of typical cities. Special‑themed research projects focus on “Inheritance and Innovation of Traditional Landscape Cities in Modern Landscape‑Oriented Urban Development”, “Building Creative Cities Distinctive of Chinese Landscape Culture”, “The Role of Landmark Buildings in Creative Cities”, and “Creating Artistic Mood of Landscape Culture within Modern Cities”. Taking Wenzhou as its core research sample, the center conducts comparative studies on Chinese and foreign landscape cities and creative cities. It takes an active part in project consultation and seminars related to the development of Wenzhou’s landscape‑oriented and creative cities, enabling research outcomes to be better applied to the practical urban construction and development of Wenzhou.
