2025夏秋课程注册通知
Dear WKU Students,
Please be advised that priority course registration for the Summer and Fall of 2025 will begin with Summer 2025 registration on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, at 9:00 AM (Beijing time). Fall registration will begin one day after, on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
Important Update on System Migration for Summer & Fall Registration:
- Due to a one-time system migration, Summer and Fall course registration will take place in two separate systems. You may begin planning your Summer course schedule via our current version of Self-Service (click the link) and Fall course schedule via our new cloud-based Self-Service portal (click the link). If you are unable to view or add any courses, please try again tonight as the data migration is still in progress.
- You will first register for Summer courses and then, on the next working day, register for Fall courses. This one-day delay is needed to synchronize course data between the old and new systems, ensuring the new system can track whether you have registered for the prerequisite courses in the Summer before you can register for Fall post-requisites.
- The system sync will happen once a day between 8 PM and 10 PM. If you need a summer prerequisite to take a post-requisite course in the fall, register for the prerequisite on the day your summer registration opens, before 8 PM (when the system syncs). This ensures your summer course syncs in time for you to register for the post-requisite the next day when fall registration opens.
Students will be assigned to one of nine registration priority groups:
- Groups 2 through 7 are for undergraduates, based on the number of credit hours earned prior to the start of the Spring 2025 semester. The schedule below defines the credit hour range and registration dates for each priority group.
- Groups 8 and 9 are students who were randomly assigned to the last two groups in the last registration cycle. Following the statement in the notification email of ‘Winter & Spring 2025 Course Registration’, the registration order for students who were in Groups 9 and 10 last registration cycle has now been reversed for this cycle. You can view your designated group in the upper right corner of Self-Service (Student Planning). The randomization process took place with representatives from the Student Government, the Student Director and Alpha present.

After reopening on May 21st, registration will remain open until the add/drop deadline of the respective semester. During the closed period, colleges reserve the right to release additional seats, such as by removing restrictions, before registration reopens to all students.

You can check your earned credits in KeanWISE by logging into your account and selecting Academic Profile > Kean Unofficial Transcript.
Preparing for Registration:
Complete Academic Integrity Agreement - If you did not agree to the "Academic Integrity Policy Agreement" located in the upper right corner of Self-Service (Student Planning) during last registration cycle, you will not be eligible for course registration via Self-Service (Student Planning).
Complete FERPA Preference Submission - You will not be able to access the ONCE service of KU Course Registration Application until you submit your FERPA preference via ONCE. (Only applies to freshmen)
Meet With Your Academic Advisors - Effective this registration cycle, you will not have an advising hold placed on your account. However, it is still mandatory for you to meet with your advisor to discuss your academic plans prior to the opening of priority registration.
Plan Your Course Schedule in Advance - If you need a summer prerequisite to take a post-requisite course in the fall, register for the prerequisite on the day your summer registration opens, before 8 PM (when the system syncs). This ensures your summer course syncs in time for you to register for the post-requisite the next day when fall registration opens.
Schedule subject to Change - Course information is subject to change after publishing. We encourage you to check your planned courses again before registration.
Important Notes:
- Click here for instructions on navigating course registration in KeanWISE.
- Undergraduate students may repeat a course once (resulting in a total of two enrollments) if they received a grade of F, D, C, or C+ in the original attempt. A second repeat of the same course is only permitted if both previous grades were F, D, C, or C+, and the ONCE KU Course Registration Application form has been approved. Courses with grades of B- or higher may not be repeated unless specified in official curriculum requirements.
- Some course sections are restricted to students who started in a particular year; for this purpose, all undergraduate students are given a start year code within the registration system based on their start year/admitted year. You can view your designation in the upper right corner of Self-Service (Student Planning). If you have taken a prolonged Leave of Absence and believe that the designation will disrupt your actual four-year plan, please contact the Office of the Registrar prior to the opening of registration for consideration of whether a one-time and irreversible adjustment to a later start year is appropriate. Click here for details.
- Some course sections are restricted to specific student populations (e.g., specific majors). Special approval from the college will be required if you wish to register for a course for which you do not meet the restriction requirements. Please submit a ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.
- If a class you are attempting to register for requires a petition approval, you must request this from the college that offers the course. Please submit a ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.
- Closed sections will require an approved ONCE KU Course Registration Application form.
- Click here for instructions on applying for courses via ONCE. Please note, only select TBA for instructor if you have confirmed the instructor is not assigned in KeanWISE. Otherwise, the form may not be acted upon. Colleges reserve the right to establish their own application review timeline.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation and please contact our office if you have any questions. Best wishes and success as we near the end of the Spring 2025 semester!
