WKU delegation visited Wenzhou Media Group

On May 20, twenty Communication students and two professors from the College of Liberal Arts of Wenzhou-Kean University visited Wenzhou Media Group to exchange views on teaching and practice, media integration, and trends in the communication industry.

The delegation of Wenzhou-Kean University visited Wenzhou Media Group’s multi-media command center, studio, mobile studio van, and live broadcast studio to get a feel for the working environment and atmosphere of the media industry. Evangeline, the delegate of CLA WKU, said that the students were all impressed by the advanced and professional communication technology of WMG.

In the discussion afterwards, Du Lijun, director of Personnel Education Center of Wenzhou Media Group, briefly introduced his colleagues in the “New Media:” Jin Anjing, the director of the APP “Wenzhounese” under the Wenzhou Group; Qian Zhongbiao, producer of the New Media department of WMG All Media News Center and the operation director of Kuaidian Wenzhou APP; and Hu Wei, producer of the “Liu Dian Jing Sai” program of the News Channel of Wenzhou Media

Professor Abbigail Ajim from the communication department and Professor James Tarwood from the English department of WKU said that the purpose of this visit was to enable students to approach the media industry and ask for advice on a media career, as well as enhance their interest in the subject.

Wenzhou Media Group has worked together with Wenzhou-Kean University before. The “May Youth Month” themed activity on the Wenzhounese platform is a joint-planned activity with WKU student association. Wenzhou Media Group expressed its appreciation and confidence in the creativity of the youth community at WKU.

Through this visit, both sides responded positively to the suggestion of establishing cooperation and giving more guidance and practice to students, hoping to benefit more students through open class teaching, summer internship and project development.
